David E. Schwager, of Luzerne County, is leaving the Board after expiration of his second and final term as a member of the Disciplinary Board. Schwager served on the Board since his appointment in 2012 and during the last two years of his term, was designated by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as Vice-Chair and then Chair of the Board. During his time as Chair, Schwager focused on enhancing the Board’s ability to serve as a resource for attorneys, the Court system, and Commonwealth citizens. Specifically, Schwager committed himself to educating attorneys about the Board through the numerous Continuing Legal Education sessions he participated in throughout the Commonwealth. Mr. Schwager is a partner in the Wilkes-Barre law firm of Chariton, Schwager & Malak, focusing on real estate, title insurance, real estate taxation, business law, commercial litigation, municipal law, and creditors’ rights. Schwager serves on numerous professional committees and associations and after serving three years as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, was recently elected Vice-President.
