Effective January 6, 2018, all documents filed with the Disciplinary Board must comply with the Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania. This policy makes case records open and accessible to the public while safeguarding sensitive, private information contained in those records. Section 7.0 of the Policy permits courts to adopt an order permitting the filing of any document in two versions, a “Redacted Version” and an “Unredacted Version”. By Order dated November 28, 2017, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania adopted that policy, ordering that all documents filed with the Court that contain confidential information shall be filed in two versions, a “Redacted Version” and an “Unredacted Version”. The Disciplinary Board adopts this approach, as well.
To review the policy, learn more about what information is sensitive or private, and obtain additional guidance on how to comply, please visit: www.pacourts.us/public-record-policies.
Per the policy, a certification must accompany each filing in accordance with the policy. Any document filed without the certification will be returned. The certification page shall be submitted as the first page of the filed document. Certification language is provided on the website referenced above.
Please direct any inquiries to the Executive Office.
*Per Order dated March 28, 2018, the Court amended the policy to reflect that all minor courts are included within the scope of the Policy and changed the name of the policy to Case Records Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania. Pursuant to the Order, the original Order remains in effect until July 1, 2018, at which time the new Policy will become effective. Any obligations of parties filing documents with the Disciplinary Board are not changed by the amendments to the Policy.
