The Petitioner for reinstatement had been disbarred on consent in January 1997, following his plea of guilty to seven counts of theft by deception. His sentence included 15 years of non-reporting probation, full restitution, and continued participation in Alcoholics Anonymous. The Disciplinary Board concluded that the misconduct was not so serious as to preclude consideration of reinstatement. The Board further concluded that Petitioner had recognized his problems of alcoholism and mental illness and made every effort to treat those disorders. Petitioner was remorseful, and his doctors testified as to his excellent prognosis, provided that he follows his medical plan and continues his participation in AA. |
