| Case Digest |
Respondent was charged with misconduct relating to representation of four clients, including neglect, failure to communicate with her clients, failure to enter into written fee agreements, and practicing law while on inactive status. Respondent claimed to have been unaware of her involuntary transfer to inactive status for failure to pay a late fee to the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board. As her period of inactive status was of relatively short duration, Respondent was able to get reinstated shortly after first contact with Disciplinary Counsel. There were no aggravating factors. In mitigation, Respondent expressed regret, cooperated with Disciplinary Counsel, and provided evidence indicating that she had experienced an unusual degree of personal and financial problems during the period of time in which the misconduct occurred. |
