Petitioner was disbarred on consent after she had been convicted of conspiracy and bribery involving her work on behalf of illegal aliens. Following her sentencing, Petitioner spent 37 months in prison. Her first Petition for Reinstatement had been denied for failing to show sincere remorse and that sufficient time had passed since her disbarment.
The Board concluded that nine years had now passed, and Petitioner demonstrated that she had actively worked to rehabilitate herself, both professionally and personally. She now expressed true remorse and many character witnesses testified regarding her important community work. She had completed her jail term and work release and paid fines and costs, as well as Client Security Fund obligations.
The Board was persuaded that Petitioner had demonstrated that she had engaged in a qualitative period of rehabilitation during her disbarment.
