This case involved two separates complaints alleging lack of diligence and lack of communication. The matters were consolidated for hearing.
Respondent failed to keep his clients adequately informed about the status of their cases and failed to explain the matters to them sufficiently. There were long periods of time in which there was no communication with the clients.
Respondent had numerous character witnesses at his hearing and there was an agreement that although an excellent lawyer, Respondent was a very disorganized lawyer.
Respondent had a history of discipline for similar infractions of ethical rules. He received Informal Admonitions in 1991 and 1992, and he received two Private Reprimands in 1993. Besides the Public Censure Respondent was placed on probation for three years with a practice monitor. |
